The Golden Rules of BRM

Bankroll Management (BRM) is the mathematical shield that prevents you from going broke during inevitable downswings. Even the best players in the world experience variance.

  • Cash Games (NLHE): Minimum 40-50 Buy-ins for your limit. If you play aggressively, aim for 100 Buy-ins.
  • Tournaments (MTTs): High variance requires a minimum of 100-200 average Buy-ins.
  • Spin & Go / Jackpots: Extreme variance. 200+ Buy-ins is mandatory.
  • Shot Taking: Only take a shot at a higher limit if you have 5-10 extra buy-ins to lose, and strictly drop down if you lose them.
